Here’s what to expect from this year’s Game Awards:

The game industry version of the Emmy Awards is just around the corner. The Game Awards will air on December 10th from Hollywood, CA, with other segments taking place in different locations. The annual show will be held entirely online for the pandemic.

Candidates for the Game of the Year include Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Doom Eternal, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Ghost of Tsushima, and Hades. Other notable candidates include 13 Sentinel: Aegis Slim, Half-Life: Alix, Ori and the Blind Will, and many others. You can check the full list of Game Awards candidates to see what has been nominated for each category.

Host Geoff Keighley says the announcements surrounding the show will come all week long. Last year’s show had a lot of surprises, including the appearance of the Muppets and numerous performances. A similar thing was seen this year. Once the announcement is announced, keep the content of the show up to date.

Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder appears

Pearl Jam lead singer and guitarist Eddie Vedder will be one of the show’s performers. Pearl Jam’s song Future Days was featured in Last of Us II.
