With more than doubling the server capacity, New World should be much better at handling player load, but Amazon is cracking down on AFKers to keep the server from overloading. A recent update has reduced the AFK timer from 25 minutes to 20 minutes and issued a warning at 15 minutes. The server also has some new software that detects that the player is using the software and prevents it from being detected as an AFK.

Also, players will not be able to create new characters on the full server, but we hope that future player forwarding systems will allow people to play with their friends more permanently.

In addition to server-related ones, there are dozens of bug fixes and war changes where turret projectiles simply move from objects to hit scan detection. This is expected to reduce the load on the server and improve gameplay.
