Indiana Farmers Union helps producers win wholesale buyers

Producers of several small-scale farmers in Indiana are working with Farmers Union to sell their products across the farmer’s market.

Michael Morrow is Executive Director of the Indiana Farmers Union and owns Tomorrow’s Farm. He tells Brownfield that organizations are keeping up with food safety measures and can help small and medium-sized producers succeed in the wholesale food market. “One of the things we did was the food safety grants we used to create some of the technical pops we posted on YouTube, and the actual on-site consulting to actually launch them. Produced on a small farm in Indiana and taken to the next level. “

According to Morrow, many of the members are already selling at farmers markets and are aware of food safety measures. “If we want to understand them and increase production, they have a problem finding those niches in the market and getting a foothold for wholesale.”

According to Morrow, Farmers Union is looking for ways to ensure that small producers consistently ensure production, attract wholesale buyers and avoid wasting produce. ..
