Iveco and Plus partner with autonomous push

Iveco has announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Plus, the world’s leading autonomous truck company, to jointly develop autonomous trucks.

Iveco and Silicon Valley-based Plus are pairing to bring autonomous trucks to market

Under non-binding MOU conditions, IVECO and Plus will integrate IVECO’s latest generation S-WAY heavy-duty truck with the PlusDrive full-stack autonomous driving system. The cooperation will also consider using IVECO’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) engine system to power the co-developed autonomous trucks. Iveco said biomethane-powered trucks are the only easy and large-scale alternative to diesel for carbon-neutral transportation, and Iveco has pioneered the use of this technology in Europe for over 20 years. And said he became a market leader.

The partnership combines Iveco’s expertise in heavy-duty truck development, manufacturing and sales with Plus’s state-of-the-art self-driving technology to bring safe, fuel-efficient and scalable self-driving trucks in Europe and elsewhere. Get to market quickly.

Iveco is working on Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) with companies of choice, and working with Plus will further accelerate the development of the highest levels of automation for heavy trucks. Plus is an ideal partner in this process, thanks to its technology, willingness to innovate, and the fact that it has already established relationships with the same major component suppliers as Iveco.

The teams of both companies will work closely together to develop and deploy autonomous trucks, including natural gas-powered trucks, with the ultimate goal of creating a more sustainable future.

In addition, the Silicon Valley-based company is applying full-stack autonomous driving technology to today’s trucks to enable large-scale autonomous commercial transportation.
