Past fantasy outlook

Allen’s knock entering his rookie season was accurate and he did nothing to prove that the critics were wrong. He finished last in the league with 33 qualified quarterbacks with a 52.8 percent completion rate. His average target depth of 11.3 yards is tied to the league lead (Jameis Winston), but Allen has completed 23.7% of attempts longer than 20 yards (29th), with a 11.9 INT percentage of at least 35. The highest attempt of having a downfield. He did well with shorter throws, but his 64.8 completion rate on 0-10 yard attempts was still much lower than the league average of 69.7 percent. Allen won his first job in the second week, missed four games in the middle of the season due to an elbow injury, finished 32nd at 6.5 YPA, and defeated only rookie Josh Rosen (5.8). Allen used his feet to regain the value of fantasy, rushing 631 yards behind Lamar Jackson (695) in QB to lead the position with eight touchdowns. His running ability, especially in the expected benefits of his second year pass game, creates fantasy optimism entering 2019. Bills adds talent and depth with the addition of John Brown, Cole Beasley, Tylercroft and Frank Gore, and Allen’s elbows are healthy off-season training. Overtaking improvements are modest and the rush isn’t as efficient as last season, but Allen has the qualities of a decent sleeper candidate with an improved roster around him.

Allen, the seventh in the draft, will start in Buffalo at least this year. Sean McDermott said Allen will be competing for his first job with AJ McCarron and Nathan Peterman in a training camp, but scouts are wondering if Allen’s match is ready for the NFL. At 6-5, 237, Allen has the perfect size for a quarterback and he has one of the most powerful weapons in the league. However, he struggled with accuracy at the University of Wyoming. The need to work on his decisions and timing probably means that he is destined for the backup work behind McCarron. Allen can do all the throws-downfield, out of numbers, running, what do you have-but with little threat other than Kelvin Benjamin, an unstable attack Playing behind the line is a difficult suggestion for any rookie. Nonetheless, McCarron, a four-year backup in Cincinnati, has also been unproven, and those who get a job may spend more time on the role of game manager than anyone else. Sean McCoy remains an aggressive eyeball.
