The Kahnawake Golf Club in Kahnawake is looking for a coach.

As a manager, you are responsible for reporting to the general manager and managing all aspects of the property, including golf courses, training facilities and surrounding areas, as well as managing the course maintenance crew, including employment, training, safety and supervision. Schedule, plan, organize and coordinate maintenance and improvements for all golf courses.

Monitor and coordinate your operational plans.

Manage operating and capital budgets.

Provides staff training and supervision.

Establish a job description and job standards.

Make sure that the playing conditions are above the Kahnawake standard.

Properly close the winter course by creating a proper and timely end-of-season chemical and fertilization application.

Make sure that safe and efficient operations meet or exceed the performance goals and goals of all staff.

Make sure that all requirements are met in an annual environmental audit (IPM certification, records management).

Development and implementation of operational budgets and capital plans.

Work with the Green Chair to maintain proper communication with members.

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to review and supervise the operation and maintenance schedule of all equipment.

The selected candidate must be a member of ASGQ while in the post.

Qualification

At least 3 years of experience working as a director or first assistant at a golf facility with private club experience.

Advanced knowledge of agriculture and turfgrass management. This includes a college or college diploma or turf management degree, and a valid pesticide license.

Sufficient knowledge of the care and maintenance of Poa annua is an asset.

Knowledge of current local, state, and federal laws and regulations that affect the operation of golf courses.
A history of providing a safe working environment with an emphasis on maintaining all regulatory requirements.

Practical knowledge of golf facilities, fleet management, construction principles and methods.

Knowledge of irrigation and drainage systems and water requirements.

Experience in a workplace culture that emphasizes both personal responsibility and accountability.

A proven team player who can foster relationships with members, guests and staff.

Ability to create presentations and provide them to boards / members, committees, course crews.

Ability to guide course staff.

Familiar with the rules and strategies of golf games.

Experience in financial management of operational and capital golf course budgets.

French and English language skills are an asset.
