It’s not cheap cheap.
LEGO will release an additional 16 Super Mario sets in 2021.
This second wave includes a big new customization set, 3 expansions, 2 new power-up suits, and 10 character packs.
Perhaps most interesting is the Master Your Adventure Maker set, which LEGO describes as a “creative toolbox.” It is designed to allow you to customize the layout of your existing set and adds a new start pipe that modifies the rules displayed on interactive Mario toys.
Next year’s three new expansions will focus on the more familiar Mario enemies. Chain Chop Jungle Encounter Expansion Set, Piranha Plant Puzzle Challenge Expansion Set, Wiggler’s Poison Swamp Expansion Set.
You can also dress Mario as Penguins Mario or Tanooki Mario.
Finally, the second series of character packs includes (deep breathing) Huckit Crab, Spiny Cheep Cheep, Ninji, Foo, Parachute Goomba, Fly Guy, Poison Mushroom, Para-Beetle, Thwimp, or Bone Goomba blind boxes. ..
As always, to get the most out of these upcoming additions, you’ll need a main Mario Starter course set with interactive Mario toys.
There is no price for the 2021 release yet, but each existing set in the range varies from about £ 20 to £ 90. Power-up suits are priced in £ 9 each and character packs are priced in £ 3.50 blind bags.
An analysis of the entire Super Mario Lego launch range revealed that one of them would cost at least £ 500.
“Two of the world’s greatest toy makers meet in the middle with LEGO Super Mario,” Oliversch wrote in a review of the LEGO Super Mario series. “It’s a hybrid-it’s fascinating and fun, but it can only hint at the pure joy of the original.”
