Chaos continues to chase Loki in episode 3 of the Disney + series and teams up with a female variant to serve another upcoming apocalypse. On their journey, they learn some new things about each other.
In the last episode, the female Loki went ahead, bombing the Sacred Timeline with a stolen TVA reset charge, creating a ton of branches, and everything TVA was doing to get the Sacred Timeline on track. I canceled the work.
One of the things we learned early in the episode is that the female variant of Loki doesn’t like being called Loki. When Hiddleston’s Loki calls her by his name, she snaps to him and tells him that he has taken Sylvie’s name. I don’t know yet, but the name may refer to the Marvel Comics character Sylvie Lushton, the second version of the Asgard god Enchantress.
Loki will suspend his plans to find a timekeeper when he decides to teleport the timekeeper to Lamentis-1 in 2077 during a brawl. This is one of the pre-programmed apocalypse in Sylvie’s Time Hopping TemPad.
It turns out that Sylvie had a very different life than Loki when she got out of the holy timeline early in her life. She did not form the same bonds and friendships as Loki, but learned the Frost Giant heritage in another way.
In the episode, Loki and Sylvie were both found to be bisexual. In a conversation about Loki’s romance, Sylvie asks, “Did you become a princess or another prince?” Loki replied, “Both are a little. I think they are the same as you.” I’m not surprised.
This is the director Kate Heron I wanted to include it in the episode when she was first involved. She tweeted, “From the moment I joined @ LokiOfficial, it was very important to me to admit that Loki was bisexual and it was my goal. It was who he was and who I was. It’s part of what it is. This is a small step, but I’m happy, and I’m full of heart to say that this is now the Canon of #mcu. “
But one of the most interesting things we’ve learned is that TVA workers are all variants, but they don’t know it. The timekeeper recruits people who have descended the holy timeline and then clears the memory from the variant. This explains Agent Mobius’ love for jet skis. It is what he retained from his life before he was hired and his memory was wiped out. It is a remnant of his old self. Imagine he rode a jet ski from the holy timeline!
This is information that Mobius and many other TVA agents are confident of learning later in the series, and I don’t think they will be happy. It’s not hard to imagine that this would lead them to stand up against the timekeeper. The movies we learn about timekeepers sound more malicious.
The episode ends with Loki and Sylvie trapped in the 2077 Apocalypse, and Lamentis-1 on the Moon is about to be wiped out by a falling planet. They tried to escape in the ark they were trying to hijack, but they were in great trouble because it was destroyed. But since they are the stars of the show, I’m sure they will find a way to survive. Maybe Mobius will jump in to save them.
An interesting little detail I wanted to point out was that we were introduced to two guards named Private Hudson ()Ben Vandermai) And Corporate Hicks (John Colin Berkeley). They are named in credit, which is clearly associated with the characters of James Cameron’s 1986 sci-fi classic Bill Paxton and Michael Biehn. alien..
Loki also finds that Sylvie is intrigued by her ability to captivate and control people’s hearts. Loki could only do that with his Mindstone-powered scepter.
I enjoyed the episode and am looking forward to what’s coming next! What did you think, and is there anything cool you noticed in his episode?
