Lloydminster Golf and Curling Center is looking for an assistant groundsman.

The assistant ground keeper who reports to the golf course, which is the supervisor, is responsible for performing tasks that may include all stages of golf maintenance and agricultural operations. Successful candidates will work closely with their supervisor, Golf Turf, on issues related to golf course maintenance.

Obligations and responsibilities

We work with supervisors, golf turf, and other key staff to continually improve golf course grounds, maintenance facilities, and all safety programs.

We thoroughly support all safety training needs and procedures, assist staff orientation, and ensure that staff fully understand the classification, purpose, and obligations of their duties.

Helps increase player satisfaction through quality maintenance and communication.

Helps schedule and coordinate daily tasks and work assignments for supervisors, golf courses, maintenance crews and golf course staff

We always communicate in a professional way, including accommodation managers and other staff, suppliers, players and other guests.

Directs and participates in the maintenance of golf courses such as tees, greens, fairways, bunkers, kart passes and roughs.

You must be capable of operating the Toro Lynx Central control system and be able to perform all tasks or tasks related to the operation and maintenance of the irrigation system.

Assists in oversight of maintenance and repair of electrical and other mechanical equipment.

Continue educational development by reading carefully selected materials and attending local lawn seminars.

Inspect all equipment and tools assigned to a particular task and report any defects to the equipment head mechanic.

Other related duties as needed.


Post-secondary education from a horticultural or landscaping accreditation program (or a program of two years or more of occupational trade) from an accredited body is required. Over 5 years of experience in green keeper positions or related fields.

Ability to perform heavy physical labor. You may need to work up to 5 hours without sitting in an environment that includes activities such as bending, lifting, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and grabbing. Occasionally you need to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs.) And often up to 23 kg (50 lbs.).

I play golf on a regular basis to stay on top of sports trends and customs.

You can properly apply pesticides and fertilizers and either have a Saskatchewan pesticide application license or strive to achieve it.

You need a valid Class 5 driver’s license and an acceptable driver’s license registered in Alberta or Saskatchewan. This position may be required to operate a municipal vehicle for business purposes.

Pre-employment requirements:

Satisfactory criminal record check.

Successful applicants are required to submit proof of qualification.

Positions are both field-based and office-based. Normal working hours are Monday to Friday from 6 am to 3 pm. This position often requires weekend shifts and assigned alternative shifts.

Reward: $ 32.06 to $ 35.05 per hour (according to the CUPE 1015 contract).
