Lansing, Michigan — Fifth Wheel Freight (FWF) has partnered with an elementary school in Lansing, Michigan to help people affected by the tornado that hits the central and southern United States. Mayfield, Kentucky has been designated as the tallest tornado in the affected cities. The EF4 tornado tore the entire city with an estimated peak wind of 190 mph.
FWF sends school supplies to Mayfield elementary school students to provide support and encouragement. As a result of this effort, 238 coloring books, 318 folders, 315 boxes of crayons, and 83 children’s books were donated. Members of the FWF team helped provide additional supplies to the initiative, increase its influence, and extend further support to students.
“We are passionate about helping people in need,” says FWF CEO Reese Van Heck. “As a logistics company, we have a unique opportunity to support Mayfield through our career network. The team has come together around this initiative and we have been able to make a difference.”
FWF coordinated delivery through services as a third-party logistics and shipping company by paying all costs and partnering with carriers to carry goods.
Fifth Wheel Freight is a third-party logistics and transportation provider (3PL) that provides clients with full-service logistics solutions through industry-leading services and reliability. The ongoing opportunity for team members to engage in community initiatives is an important element of FWF’s value.
