Madden 22 adds SpongeBob, TMNT, and Rugrats content along with a large patch

The NFL Playoffs began this Saturday, and to celebrate the occasion, the Madden NFL 22 is getting big updates adding new content such as SpongeBob SquarePants and TMNT Gear.

The NFL and Nickelodeon have partnered on Sunday’s wild card game between the 49ers and the Cowboys on Nick’s special broadcast, which extends to Madden 22.

EA Sports has revived the content of last year’s acquisition of SpongeBob in Madden’s The Yard mode, adding new gear based on other nick shows such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Rugrats. The new event is called Nickelodeon Slime Time and features a Nickelodeon-style field decorated with SpongeBob’s pineapple house and krusty krab.

Nickelodeon returns to Madden

In addition to the Nickelodeon partnership, Madden 22 has three “flavor-related” events in games related to the sports drink company Gatorade. The “Road to the Dunk” event in The Yard includes a new gatorade-themed field and unlocking gatorade gear inspired by the flavors of fruit punch, orange and lemon lime. The road to Dunk is available until February 15th.

In addition, the Campus Legend event has returned to Madden’s Superstar KO mode, with the addition of two high-profile teams, Alabama Crimson Tide and Ohio State Buckeyes. These teams can play in 1v1, 2v2, or 3v3 matches and have a roster featuring well-known ex-players such as Joe Namath, Justin Fields, brothers Nick and Joey Bosa. Other college teams available at Superstar KO include LSU, USC, Clemson, University of Florida, University of Texas, and Michigan State University.

In addition to the new content, Madden 22 has been updated to improve RunCommit and RPOPeek playback tuning and resolve franchise mode issues. Check out the complete patch notes below, shared by EA Sports.
