Marvel reinvents Daredevil just in time for 2021

A lot has happened in the Marvel Universe these days. It is the end of the X of Swords crossover and the beginning of the long-awaited Venom epic Black King. But the biggest twist across the Marvel Universe this week actually happens within the Daredevil page.
warning: This article contains a complete spoiler for Daredevil # 25! In the world of Matt Murdoch these days, things look pretty dark. This is basically the equivalent of Marvel’s most chronically miserable hero course. In the previous issue, Matt finally accepted the consequences of unintended manslaughter. He is currently sentenced to two years in prison, despite wearing a Daredevil mask. Hey, why throw it away now after all the trouble he has experienced to restore his secret identity?

The question now is who will protect Hell’s Kitchen in Slammer’s Daredevil. answer? It is none other than Matt’s former flame Electra. She is dressed for that part:

What motivates Electra to abandon her lucrative career as a ninja assassin and play the grateful role of the Hell’s Kitchen vigilante hero? This issue suggests a larger conspiracy involving The Hand and its newly discovered antithesis, The Fist, but Elektra seems to really want to prove she can be a hero. That means no matter how much New York criminals seduce her, they will no longer kill her.

Electra also has a financial interest in protecting Hell’s Kitchen. The story arc before the series dealt with Daredevil and Electra fighting the wealthy Stromwin family who had hired Supervillains to drive out Hell’s Kitchen residents and terrorize their neighborhood to steal cheap real estate. Matt thought he saved the day by buying the property from Tony Stark and persuading the previous owner to sell it back for a fee. But at the last minute, Tony was overpriced by Electra. Hell’s Kitchen literally belongs to Daredevil and she intends to do everything she can to save her new home.

It’s not yet known how long this new situation will last, but given Matt’s sentence of two years, it’s quite possible that the series will unfold in real time and Electra will continue to play a new role to the end. There is. 2022.
