Kyoto, Japan Caused a great deal of confusion this morning “Amazing Boy”, a must-have challenger, defeated the world’s No. 1 light flyweight Kenshiro in the 9th title defense and suffered the first defeat in the 10th round of TKO.
Yabuki (13-3, 12 KO), who won the Japanese championship for 108 pounds, overwhelmed Terachi (18-1, 10 KO). It was reportedly a great fight.. Yabuki used his reach and power to build a lead on all three scorecards, but Terachi barked with the ninth brave effort. Yabuki showed his own championship grit by turning the climax round and forcing TKO to stand on the ropes with blazing momentum.

According to Kyodo News, 29-year-old Yabuki was planning to retire regardless of the outcome, but after enjoying the victory, he naturally reconsidered. As for Terachi, this is yet another setback in a year full of them, but he’s still a top-notch boxer and, on the surface, young enough to embark on a comeback trail.
Large props to the new champion. It’s an easy Fight of the Year candidate, so I hope he’ll share the ring with IBF champion Felix Alvarado.
