UDPATE: Officially confirmed.
It’s hard to keep a big secret (and I really struggled to keep it surprised), but it’s now official: announced today Mass Effect Legendary Edition!! Having heard the Mass Effect remaster request (for years!), I’m very happy to finally make it clear that I’m working on a remastered version of the Mass Effect trilogy.
For months, our team at BioWare has been enthusiastic about updating textures, shaders, models, effects, and technical features. 3 huge games.. Our goal was not to recreate or rethink the original game, but to modernize the experience so that fans and new players can experience the original work in the best possible way. It’s amazing to see Commander Shepard’s adventure breathe new life with ultra-clear resolutions, faster frame rates, and beautiful visual enhancements. As game developers, we always want our games to transcend the original platform. The opportunity to remaster the trilogy means that the results of our decade of work will live on and be experienced better and more clearly than ever before.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition Includes promotional weapons, armor, and packs, as well as Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3 single-player base content and DLC. All of these have been remastered and optimized for 4k Ultra HD. It will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC in the spring of 2021 and will provide upward compatibility and targeted extensions on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. More details will be announced in the new year.
Meanwhile, here at BioWare, a team of veterans have been working hard to envision the next chapter in the Mass Effect universe. We are in the early stages of the project and can’t say any more, but we look forward to sharing our vision for our next goal.
For me personally, Mass Effect represents years of work and countless special memories. So I’m very lucky to be able to celebrate N7 Day with players from all over the world every year. Thank you for your support over the years. I can’t wait to continue the adventure together. Revisit our favorite memories in the world of Mass Effect and create entirely new memories!
The following original story …
Gamespot pressed a button a few minutes ago and leaked a Mass Effect Trilogy remaster (called Mass Effect: Legendary) for the PC console. These are not complete remakes, but remasters that include all DLC. Better frame rates, improved resolution and textures, and better shaders are promised.
They also confirmed that they were working on the “Next Chapter of the Mass Effect Universe” being developed by a “Veteran Team”.
Mass Effect Trilogy remasters have leaked many times over the past year. Czech retailer Herni Svet was the latest store to list remasters of Mass Effect Trilogy. Once again, the game is listed on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch, with a release date of October, the same as the previous leak, but it doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.
It seems that Reddit users have translated the text to show that it includes multiplayer. This is something new, but BioWare hasn’t officially confirmed it. T
Previously, Portuguese retailer Gaming Replay also listed games, but box art was different.
In July, “Art of the Mass Effect Trilogy: Expanded Edition” will be available in stores next year on March 23, and will be published by Dark Horse Comics, as well as previous Mass Effect art books and graphic novels. I understand. It seems very strange that a book based on a game that hasn’t been on the shelf since 2017 was published in 2021. That’s unless there’s a new / old game in the middle.
Then, GamesBeat journalist Jeff Grab, who claims the game was remastered in August, may come out in October of this year. “It’s true that we were planning to announce it in early October and release it in late October, like last week. That’s great news,” he told the Gamesbeat podcast. But he then softened his expectations, adding, “Maybe bad news, 2020, it may start slipping, it seems possible, there’s nothing yet certain.” I know it’s real. I’ve seen enough evidence to know that it’s genuine, but it’s still 2020 and they haven’t announced it yet. “
The EA has never officially announced a remastered trilogy, but there are many reports that the game exists. The last game in the series, Mass Effect: Andromeda, is a commercial flop, and the DLC planned for the game has been scrapped. That said, the game got a decent review from ourselves, including 8/10.
Mass Effect: I found it difficult to get excited during Andromeda’s business hours. It’s too safe and feels the same as before, but it makes a clicking sound. There is a moment when the galaxy opens and re-launches a huge mission across a fascinating and beautifully constructed planet surrounded by memorable characters. Sadly, an excess of technical failures can help make the process cheaper, but this is still an adventure you don’t want to miss.
