Weston McKennie has consistently taken out a loan at Juventus, but may be forced to sit for the time being after leaving early Sunday’s match.
McKennie left in a home crash with Juventus Sassuolo on Sunday 19 minutes, apparently suffering a muscle injury. The American midfielder made the start of Andrea Pirlo’s team, but was replaced by Aaron Ramsey long before half-time.

McKennie was jogging in the field and didn’t seem to feel any pain, but Pirlo replaced him as a precautionary measure for his busy 2021 schedule. The 22-year-old joined the old lady on a loan in September and is a major addition to the team from Schalke.
He scored three goals and added two assists in a total of 17 appearances for the defending Serie A winner. He also scored once in the UEFA Champions League group stage. McKennie has taken a total of 978 minutes of action so far and will be able to sign a permanent contract with Juventus later this summer.
Juventus remain behind Serie A leader AC Milan, but last week brought Rossoneri their first league defeat.
