MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries’ Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC has been postponed until spring 2021 to coincide with the launch of the game on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, Steam, and GoG. Piranha Games released the news as part of a blog post on the MechWarrior 5 website, with the release date of Cyberpunk 2077 shifted to December 10th, as the DLC was originally scheduled for release. He said he influenced the decision to change the date. “Every developer wants to get as much attention as possible on the title, and sharing the release date with cyberpunk was clearly not optimal. First day sales and marketing succeeded in launching the product. It’s very important to let me know. If you change the release date schedule, let MechWarrior 5 Mercenaries take the opportunity and attention to deserve it, “the blog post says.
Fortunately, this will allow MechWarrior 5 to be launched simultaneously on multiple platforms in the spring of 2021. This is the first MechWarrior game to appear on the console since 2004, when MechAssault 2 first appeared on the original Xbox. According to Piranha Games, Mechwarrior 5 on Xbox is “the first true MechWarrior experience on the console.” Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries was launched exclusively on PC at the Epic Games Store in December 2019. At launch, we reviewed the game and rated it as 8.1, calling it a “modern revival of the series.”
