The New York Red Bulls have signed another promising youth on their list. But this time I’m an American from overseas.

The Red Bulls announced Friday morning that they had completed the transfer of Cameron Harper, a US men’s winger under the age of 20. Harper joined Red Bull from Scottish Power’s Celtic and signed a three-year contract that included a quarter team option.

The 19-year-old attacker has been with Celtic since September 2018. He spent most of his time club training with teams under the age of 18, but recently made his professional debut with a one-on-one draw with Hibernian FC. In January. The 61 minute shift was his only appearance this season.

Rapids give vines, a multi-year extension of Rubio

Colorado Rapids has contained the future of two starters, including one US men’s national team player.

Rapids announced on Friday that it has signed new deals for both Sam Vines on the left back and Diego Rubio on the forward. Vines has agreed to a four-year extension to the 2025 season, and Rubio has signed a two-year contract that includes team options for an additional season.

Vines has launched each of the 18 games featured in Rapids’ previous campaign. The 21-year-old US International scored one goal and had three assists in those appearances. Rubio, 27, nodded in 12 of the 16 games he played in 2020. He provided 3 goals and 4 assists.

Union regains Bendik

Joe Bendik remains in the city of Brotherly Love, along with the winner of Supporters’ Shield.

The Philadelphia Union announced on Friday that it has signed a new contract with Bendik. The veteran MLS goalkeeper, who was a free agent after the last contract expired at the end of the 2020 season, remains with the team he was with in the last two campaigns.

31-year-old Bendik was Andre Blake’s main back-up last year, making one start and two appearances in the Union during his participation in Supporters’ Shield.

Revolution additional draft topic KIZZA

The New England Revolution has enhanced their attack options and signed their first round draft topic.

The Revolution announced on Friday that it had added forward Edward Kiza to the roster prior to its next campaign. The terms and conditions of the transaction have not been disclosed.

22-year-old Kiza, who ranked 24th overall in the 2021 MLS Draft, spent three years at the University of Pittsburgh before becoming a professional. He has won 31 nets in 53 appearances from 2017 to 2019.
