Naughty Dog is back in a motion capture studio working on a mystery project

Naughty Dog from The Last of Us2 Studio is back at the motion capture studio, which is currently working on an unknown project.

Marianne Hayden, senior cinematic animator at Naughty Dog, recently shared her photo on Twitter with two actors from the motion capture studio, with the caption “I’m glad I’m back on stage.”

“I think you’ll see some integration on that side. You’ll probably see a little more on our side. I think there are probably too many movie studios. 1 in the next 5 to 10 years. It may be two less.

Obviously, there is no way to know what the trio is working on with the mocap suite. In particular, keep in mind that future projects from Naughty Dog may require some motion capture work. But it’s interesting that one of Shot’s characters, actor and stuntman Mark Musashi, had previously stunted at The Last of Us 2.

As I dig deeper into this Naughty Dog guessing game, I also noticed that Marianne Hayden had previously worked on The Last of Us 2. This is not surprising given that you are wearing a T-shirt with the game name on the photo.

Of course, there are rumors that Naughty Dog has been working on some follow-up, including sequels, DLC, and spin-offs, since the release of The Last of Us 2. Also recently, a series of job listings on Naughty Dog confirmed that the studio was working on some sort of “first standalone multiplayer game.” This is also what Hayden and the two actors are currently working on.
