This week we’re bringing you a new PS5 firmware update.
Sony has released a new incremental firmware update for PS5 Consoles around the world.New firmware, version 20.02-02.26.00, 20.02-02.25.00 will come a week later.
And like last week’s release, this is also an 868MB download. And it’s no surprise to know that Sony hasn’t revealed the actual purpose of the update. The only patch note available is your favorite, “This system software update improves system performance.”
It’s not that PS5 owners don’t want some stability updates. Consoles have faced many problems since their launch. There are infamous download queue bugs, rest mode crash consoles, and more.
The PS5 also lacks documentation for certain error codes, such as CE-107863-5, which are displayed when the console disconnects from the Internet during the installation of disc-based games. Of course, the PS5 gets the latest patches during installation, but the details aren’t clear to the user and cause a lot of confusion.
There have been many reports of random crashes, but it’s still unclear whether the cause is hardware or console firmware. In any case, you should download 20.02-02.26.00 as soon as possible.
