New York Giants Select Devon Tasmis in Latest Chad Reuters Simulated Draft – NFL Sports

As the 2021 NFL simulated draft continues to unfold, it seems that the New York Giants have regained consensus that they will choose Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle in 11th place overall.

However, NFL Network Chad Reuters Things are a little different, with Waddle still on the board, he’s taking over the Giants for Alabama’s teammate Devonta Smith.

Smith is exactly the kind of playmaker that GM Dave Gettleman wants to support his previous first round pick, Daniel Jones. His foot speed helps him win from the line and he plays much bigger than his 170 pounds show.

Smith will definitely gain a little weight after participating in the team’s strength and conditioning program. This fits nicely with his 6’1 frame.

Not yet the tallest graduated receiver, his added height will benefit the Giants and quarterback Daniel Jones, especially in the Red Zone.

In Round 2, Reuters landed Alim McNeill, a defensive tackle at North Carolina State University, with the Giants. This would be a good addition if the team lost Leonard Williams or Dalvin Tomlinson as a free agent.

After that pick, Reuters has a Giants who runs Michael Carter in Round 3 and Quincy Roche in Miami Edge Rasher in Round 4 to hook North Carolina.

All four picks provide Giants talent in the areas they need and help fill in some depth that has been lacking in recent years.
