Ninja Gaiden developers make fun of multiple 2021 announcements

After a series of rumors and leaks during 2020, this New Year seems to be a big year for fans of the long dormant Ninja Gaiden. The developer team Ninja recently confirmed in 2021 that the studio will announce several new titles later this year. This means that a resurgence of the beloved action series can occur.

The news comes from Team Ninja director Fumihiko Yasuda talking to Japanese outlet 4Gamer about the studio’s plans for the year. Yasuda said the developers will get “some new titles” to be released in 2021 and begged fans to “look forward to them!”. However, there was no specific mention of the franchise that the studio might be working on.

Team Ninja is primarily best known for working with the Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive franchises. In recent years, the studio has moved to two installments of the new Nioh series, with the latest entry arriving in early 2020. One of the confirmed games that Team Ninja has already announced to launch in 2021 is two installments. -Game remastered Nioh collection for PlayStation 5 and PC arriving in February.

For other games that Team Ninja may release this year, Ninja Gaiden seems very likely to be a candidate. Within the past year, Team Ninja developers have stated they are interested in working on new releases in the series. In addition, the Ninja Ryukenden trilogy package for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch leaked a few months ago. It’s not yet confirmed that this collection exists, but it’s not a shock to see it finally happen.
