At this point, it’s well documented that Nintendo Switch has had a great year and console sales increased in 2020. Currently, Nintendo of Canada has announced several sales milestones that Switch has achieved in the country this year. It’s very impressive.
So far, the system has sold 790,000 units by the end of November. That last month alone, the system sold an incredible 148,000 units. In 2019, Switch sold a total of 628,000 units domestically. Canada has a total population of 37.5 million, many of whom are now switch owners.
These numbers include the sum of the standard Switch and the portable Switch Lite.
Even with the release of the PS5 and Xbox Series X / S, the Switch was the best-selling console of the month-and it was Canada’s best-selling system for the last 25 months.
Switch has become a top seller not only in China but also in the United States. Nintendo’s next quarterly earnings report isn’t scheduled until February 1, but Switch is expected to have total sales of over 70 million by then.
