NXT’s upcoming championship match – WWE Sports

In future WWE NXT episodes, two title matches have been officially announced.

Raquel Gonzalez of the NXT Women’s Championship will make his first title defense against Mercedes Martinez in the May 11th episode. This will be Raquel’s first title match since winning the strap from Io Shirai at the “Takeover: Stand and Deliver” Night One Main Event.

At the NXT show tonight, Martinez played against Dakota Kai at the opener. The story was that Martinez wanted Kai to stay out of the way before the title match. The match ended with a DQ after Gonzales attacked Martinez in an attempt to get rid of Kai. After the bell, Gonzales destroyed Martinez and stood on her with the title.

WWE then announced a Martinez vs. Gonzales title match two weeks later. Martinez initially challenged Gonzales earlier this month.

Triple H went to Twitter after the opener and commented.

“We can’t deny the talent and experience of competitors like @RealMMartinez … but we shouldn’t doubt the strength and strength of #WWENXT Women’s Champion @RaquelWWE … ever !!! @WWENXT,” he said. wrote.

Another title match identified in the next episode is Bronson Reed vs. NXT North American Championship Johnny Gargano. The date of this match has not been confirmed, but it is possible in the May 11th episode.

At tonight’s NXT show, Reed defeated Austin Theory to win the title shot from Gargano. Reed challenged Gargano at the “Takeover: Stand and Deliver” event earlier this month, but Gargano was retained due to theoretical interference.

Triple H also commented on Reed and Gargano at the show tonight.
