You probably already expected this, but yes, Oddworld: Soulstorm won’t come out this year.

Many years of development of Oddworld residents Oddworld: Soul StormRe-appearing in the new PS5 trailer in June, was pushed back next spring.

Fortunately, we reviewed the game with a new trailer released overnight at The Game Awards 2020.

The trailer itself is short, but a message from creator Lone Lanning continued, explaining that it would take extra time to bring the game to the highest standards in the studio.

Oddworld: Soulstorm is the second regular game of the planned Oddworld quintology. It’s still a side-scrolling action-adventure, but it extends the genre and unique mechanics with a strategic layer that safely guides the reactive world, crafts, economy, and Mudcon bands.

The game is under development for PC, PS4 and PS5.
