OpenCritic accuses Cyberpunk 2077 of being “deceptive and exploitative”

Review aggregator site OpenCritic has taken an unprecedented step to warn gamers from PS4. Xbox One version of Cyberpunk 2077.

As the controversy over Cyberpunk 2077’s performance deepened, the website OpenCritic published an article accusing CD Projekt of “intentionally trying to misrepresent the product” over the quality of the game on the console.

A review copy of the console version was sent only a few days before the release and was not in time to complete the review before the release. As a result, there are few console reviews dedicated to Cyberpunk 2077 yet, but the ones that exist, such as IGN’s 4/10 review, are very negative.

In a bitter attack, OpenCritic claimed CD Projekt and said,’I knew what they were doing was wrong. It was deceptive, selfish, and exploitative. They did it anyway. “

Unlike Metacritic, OpenCritic doesn’t organize reviews by format (which seems unwise at best) and admits that “the single-score approach failed the user with respect to Cyberpunk 2077.” I am.

OpenCritic has also added a notification to Cyberpunk 2077 and posted a tweet stating that it warns people about the quality of the console version.

At the time of writing, the warning has not been added to the website (or it may have been removed after contact with CD Projekt), but the tweet says:

“This game makes significant differences in performance, player experience, and review scores between PC, next-generation consoles, Xbox One, and PS4 versions.

“The OpenCritic team and some critics have found that developer CD Projekt Red deliberately tries to hide the true state of the game on the Xbox One and PS4, allowing only pre-rendered game footage in reviews. And I suspect there are requirements such as not issuing a copy of the review. For PS4 and Xbox One versions. “

The warning has been shown to be removed in February. Perhaps a reference to CD Projekt’s promise to release a second of two major patches that month.
