Overwatch 2 will be held at BlizzCon in February, but there’s still a “way to go” before it goes on sale.

Both Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 are on BlizzCon Online. Blizzard was previously crazy about what’s going on in the February showcase beyond several community showcase events, but this week the studio is finally ready to deliver real-world game news shortly. It looks like you’re ready to make sure it’s done. However, while Blizzard’s next steps to tackle FPS games are coming soon, don’t hold your breath on the release date of Overwatch 2.

Overwatch itself is getting a surprising new map. “I don’t think a lot of people expected this to come,” said director Jeff Kaplan in a new developer update video. “As you know, our big focus is Overwatch 2. We’ll have BlizzCon Online in February.” But as the team grows in size with builds up to Overwatch 2, the team Morton, one of our new hires, has created a new map that “is so good that the team wanted to go completely into production.”

Kanasaka is a deathmatch map and is published on PTR. Overwatch 2 has already been set in some environmental storytelling, including fresh folklore around Hanzo and Genji. (There is also a cat cafe with pictures of cats throughout the studio.)

Kaplan said the team said, “I can’t wait to show you more in Overwatch 2. I know it was too long. I know we were quiet. Just to manage expectations. There’s still a way to go, but we’re working very hard. We hope this game will be great for you both in live games and in future sequels. “

BlizzCon 2021 is scheduled for February 19th and 20th, and the entire event will be free. There seems to be a lot of reason to pay attention to the release of some sort of “thick” Diablo 4 there.
