It’s hard to believe that just a year ago, in 2020, we hosted the first online digital event with the SFV Summer Update. A year later, there are some seasonal updates and we’re back with today’s SFV Summer Update 2021! Check out the full video here:
Let’s take a closer look at what was covered, such as the SFIII series character “Oro”, the newcomer Akira of SF, and the release of the final character of Season 5 of SFV!
Oro is back from the SFIII series
Street Fighter III’s Wandering Hermitage is back in SFV and ready to teach these young people combat lessons. Oro’s playstyle has always given him a variety of options, and his SFV iterations are no exception.
Oro’s V Skill I is called “Onibi” and summons a bouncing orb projectile that can bounce with three different trajectories.
Oro’s V Skill II is a “bagworm”, where Oro performs a short hop and has two different follow-up attacks. “Kakiotoshi” (overhead attack) or “edauchi” (safer block kick).
Oro’s V-Trigger I is called “Manrikitan” and allows Oro to access command grabs called “Kishinriki” and “Kishin Kuchu Jigoku Guruma”, which can be run on the ground and in the air, respectively.
Oro’s “Tengu Stone” is back as V Trigger II. Oro summons three objects that can be used to enable unprecedented combos.
If you press and hold V-Trigger II while it is running, “Tengu Midare Stone” will start instead and 5 objects will be created. This makes the combo even more powerful, but the V-gauge drains faster.
Leading the turtle buddies, Oro is back in SFV with classic movements and some new tricks in the robe. Please try Oro, which will be released on August 16th.
Let’s check the running Oro!
Akira Kazama makes her debut in Street Fighter V
Akira Kazama, who has returned from the fighting game series “Rival School”, makes her debut as a street fighter in SFV! Her play style is perfect for familiar and personal things.
“Kikokai” is a short-range energy explosion that comes from Akira’s hand. The EX version has a longer range and comes out much faster.
“Urarimon” is a high-speed elbow strike that moves forward. This movement allows Akira to stay in space and do good damage, making it ideal as a combo ender.
Her “Senshubu” kick has low, medium and high variations for hitting at all angles, followed by a follow-up kick.
Akira’s V system
Akira’s V Skill I “Kikorensei” strengthens her “Kikokai” by adding hits and damage to the attack.
Her V-Skill II is called “Tstenda” and Akira fires enemies into the air, allowing for follow-up attacks. These aerial combos are called “air bursts”.
Akira’s V Trigger I is “a man’s back”. When Akira’s older brother Daigo comes down from the sky and attacks the opponent, it explodes at once!
Her V-Trigger II is “Haten’s stance” and Akira is in a special stance that allows her to carry out three different follow-up attacks.
Each follow-up attack has its own attributes, and you can instead cancel and throw your stance! Use this V-trigger to expand combos and open opponents with frame traps and mixups.
Akira is studying and ready to make waves with SFV when it’s released on August 16th! Check out Akira’s actions in this exclusive match video:
