Pokemon Go gets Gucci clothes, but British players need to be in London for it • .net

Pokemon Go has launched a new collaboration between Gucci and The North Face. It features exclusive avatar wear items that can only be unlocked in-game in certain locations in London.

100 Pokestops around the world have been selected to feature fashion brand T-shirts, hats and backpacks as virtual items for Pokemon Go characters in the game.

Twenty-seven cities in North America have special Poké Stops that allow you to unlock clothing, as well as 24 cities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

London is the only British city on the list.

Last night, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced another blockade of England, in addition to similar restrictions in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The government’s coronavirus guidelines allow the movement, but require that you stay local. Otherwise, don’t leave the house unless you have a reasonable excuse. Unlocking Gucci’s avatar item seems unlikely to qualify.

“When playing Pokemon GO, be aware of your surroundings and follow the guidelines of local health authorities,” said Niantic’s blog post, which released a clothing collaboration note.

The fashion range will also be available as physical clothing that can be ordered from the official Gucci and North Face websites. This is probably a better option.
