2021 is just around the corner. Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, elaborated on the game’s first New Year’s Community Day. The event will be held on January 16th, and the monster to watch this time is the fighting type Pokemon Machop.
Throughout the event, Machop will appear in the wild much more often than usual, giving you the chance to encounter ShinyMachop. Fighting Pokemon can also learn event-only movements. If you can evolve Machamp (an evolution of Machop) into Machamp within two hours of the end of January’s Community Day, you’ll know the recovery of dark-type attacks.
In addition to the increase in Machop spawns, some other bonuses will be available during Community Day in January. First of all, if you catch Pokemon during the event, you can get 3 times more stardust than usual. The incense used is also valid for 3 hours, and Niantic will sell a special item bundle at Pokemon Go’s in-game shop, including:
- 1 Elite Charged TM
- 4 incense
- 4 star piece
- 30 Ultra Ball
Like recent Community Day, next month’s event will run for six hours from 11am to 5pm local time. Niantic will also offer a special Community Day-only research line centered around Machop during the event. Tickets are required to access special studies. However, if you purchase tickets for Pokemon GO’s Kanto Tour event by January 13, you will also receive tickets for the January and February Community Day Research Story as a bonus. Meanwhile, Pokemon Go’s annual holiday event is back this week. From December 22nd to 31st, ice Pokemon such as Jynx, Snover, and debut Vanillite will appear more frequently in the wild, with festive versions of Pikachu, Cubchoo, and Delibird. The Style Shop also offers a variety of event-specific field research tasks to complete holiday-themed avatar items.
