PS5: My first impression-reader characteristics

Good first impression (Photo: Sony)

A reader provides a rating for the PlayStation 5, its controller, and its game, and explains why he was happy to pre-order it.

I managed to get a pre-order, so I was fortunate enough to spend some time with the PlayStation 5 and some games. This is my first idea.

I don’t really care about the design or size of the console (my wife isn’t a fan!). It was good because it fits on the TV stand. The only problem is the stand. It doesn’t seem to clip at all and is loose many times. As for the system itself, there are no bugs or issues and I like the new interface. In the game I played, the load time has improved significantly. I was a little surprised that the console didn’t come with a free PS Plus trial like the previous generation, but that’s not a big deal.

The controller is honestly the best PlayStation controller ever. Ignoring tactile feedback and adaptive triggers, it still feels more comfortable and sturdy than previous iterations. I hope more games will take advantage of the other features I mentioned.

3D audio

I am happy with my purchase of the Pulse 3D headset. A nice design that blends in with the aesthetics of the PlayStation 5 and other accessories. The headphones are also comfortable and have decent sound quality. However, I cannot say that I was able to notice the difference in immersive feeling or identify the direction of the sound more accurately. Still, it’s good to have nice headphones and not worry about the volume of the TV when others are in bed.

The first game I played was Astro’s playroom. I have to say that I wasn’t disappointed. I’ve played AstroBot on PlayStation VR, so it’s good that I don’t have to rely on VR to keep the player entertained. This game is a lot of fun and is a great way to showcase what the console, especially the controller, offers.

I’m not an avid Sony fan, but a recent game enthusiast, but still enjoyed many references and callbacks to previous games, consoles, and PlayStation accessories. It was short and didn’t take long to complete most of the game, but I can’t complain when it was free. At some point, I’ll handle what I missed, such as collectibles.

The next game I played was Spider-Man: Miles Morales. It hasn’t changed much since I played the first game, but it’s not necessarily a bad thing. The fact that the game is set for Christmas time in snow-covered New York and the fact that Miles has a slightly different skill set than Peter keeps it from getting old. Visually, I wouldn’t notice the difference between generations until the scene of using ray tracing came out. I especially remember the interior of the mall and some computer labs that stood out.

Dirt 5 is also one of the games I played a bit. I’m not a fan of racing sims, I’m a fan of arcade style racers. Not at the same level, Dirt 5 is somewhat reminiscent of the Forza Horizon series. The game also has impressive lighting, environmental and weather effects.

Finally, I also played FIFA 21 a bit, but at the moment it’s a PS4 version. what can I say? It’s pretty much the same, that’s fine, but I hope the next-generation version scheduled for early December will make a noticeable difference. I think it’s been a while since I might have skipped FIFA if I hadn’t been tempted by the next generation version.

Also, as a long-suffering Leeds United fan, I was looking forward to playing for the first time in the Premier League, so I’m very disappointed to be the only team to have no official stadium in the Premier League. .. Hopefully they may patch this one day.

Overall, I’ve enjoyed my time on the PlayStation so far and look forward to the game for the next 6-7 years. If early generational games Spider-Man and Dirt 5 take a closer look at this now and Astro’s playroom shows the features that PlayStation 5 can achieve, what can be offered later in the PlayStation 5 life cycle? I can only imagine.
