Random: Switch Subreddit has melted down a bit

Reddit is a weird place at its best, but it seems weird today. According to Twitter users @beackupburner, One of the Switch subreddits has a new moderation, breaking the whip.

Switch subreddit has always been a bit strange place. A much larger forum is r / Nintendo Switch, which has 2.7 million members. r / Switch is only about 135k at the time of writing.

The current rules for the location include “don’t want the lawn of your neighbor” and “make sure there is a functional connection between land and water.” One of the sidebars has details on “compulsory subscriptions” to other unrelated subreddits such as r / Personal Finance and r / Catholic. The new flare, a tag attached to posts to indicate content, has seven deadly sins themes. There is a sticker that just says “I’m pepper”.

Some longtime members of subreddit point out that it’s mainly one mod, CupKnifeSpoon, doing all the weird things-and they’ve obviously been doing it for some time. I did. The motive for the mod has not yet been discovered.

Members have begun a fight against the new moderator’s tyranny with a meme depicting Mario and friends informing others of tenant rights. Some people are enjoying the new rules and regulations, while others are really enjoying it. Really I want Reddit to burn the place to the ground. Some members, on the other hand, are only clearly posting regular Switch content.

Do you think this strange acquisition is serious? Or do you think the mods are just trolling? Please let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
