The· The Resident Evil Showcase was full of good news for survival horror fans, but the most surprising was the new VR version of Resident Evil 4.

There have been rumors of a Resident Evil 4 remake in the style of Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes for a long time, but that’s not what this is.

The remake is almost certainly going on, but Capcom hasn’t officially announced it. Instead, at the Resident Evil Showcase on Thursday night, Resident Evil 4 VR for Oculus Quest 2 was announced.

Given the modest graphics capabilities of Quest 2 (because it’s wireless and all the hardware needs to be included in the headset itself), the game is up-to-date, except that it’s all first-person and VR. Looks much like a remaster.

There wasn’t much detail provided, except that ReCore developer Armature is handling the game, as Facebook plans to publish everything at the Oculus Gaming Showcase on Wednesday, April 21st.

Given how difficult it is to move in VR games, many people rely on teleporting to avoid nausea, so this new version could provide a workaround to help with the old tank control of Resident Evil 4. There is sex. The rhythm of the original game.

Remake Resident Evil 4 has always been a thorny issue, but this sideways step can be better than a complete remake from scratch.

We don’t know when the VR game will be released, but that information may be announced next week. It’s unclear if the game will be released on the PlayStation VR, but at least it sounds like Oculus’s timing is limited.
