Ever wondered what Resident Evil Village looks like in ray tracing? It’s no wonder AMD Radeon RX has partnered with Capcom to implement the same on their PCs. In addition to ray tracing, AMD’s Fidelity FX is also supported.
A short video of the tweet shows the difference between a non-ray-traced environment and a ray-traced environment. FidelityFX offers variable shading, ambient occlusion, screen space reflection, and downsampling solutions, so it’s not yet clear which of these will be used in Resident Evil Village. The demo is currently only available on the PS5, but PCs, Xbox One, PS4, and Xbox Series X / S players can expect another more fulfilling one this spring.
Resident Evil Village is currently scheduled to be released on May 7th on all of the above platforms. It seems that more biohazard titles are being produced for the future, such as the rumored Resident Evil Outrage, Resident Evil 4 remake, and even Resident Evil 9. In the meantime, stay tuned for more details.
