Rust and Everspace 2 Lead Steam Top Sellers

Rust broke the record for simultaneous players like never before and topped Steam’s top-selling list for the third straight week. Participating in it is the new Everspace 2, a surprising participant towards the bottom.

Once again, Rust became number one and continued to be popular last month or so. Second, Everspace 2 is an action RPG game that is a space pilot just coming to Steam Early Access. After hosting the successful Kickstarter in 2019, developer Rockfish Games has been working hard to bring the sequel to the original fans as soon as possible. So far, it’s very good. It ranks second on Steam’s bestsellers and has over 1,000 positive reviews on the Valve store.

In the center of the chart are the usual suspects such as Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Phasmophobia. But penultimately, Surprise Participant Skul: The Hero Slayer is a 2D soul-like game of developer Southpaw Games. With version 1.0 released this week, new story chapters and equipment added, Skul has brought nearly 20,000 simultaneous players to the quest. Not enough to be in the top 25 of the Steam chart, but enough to be a top seller.

Skul’s launch trailer is:

Facepunch Studios, the developer of Rust, has been working to meet all demand. The update for early January included a new server and Twitch was removed from some prominent streamers. Some time ago, I talked to community members about base construction and talked to survival game resident Robin Hood.
