Despite disagreements among the fan base, the Saints Row reboot wasn’t bad enough for Embracer to give up on the series.

Whether you like the new Saints Row or not (we didn’t), which is clearly very opinionated.I found it outdated and repetitive, but others (at least one of our readers) I think the critics judged it too harshly.

Given the reputation, it naturally raises the question of whether Embracer Group (which, like just about everything on the planet, owns the Saints Row IP) would be interested in continuing with the series reboot. occurs.

There’s no definitive answer, but it looks like Embracer isn’t entirely sure either, waiting to see how much revenue the game will make in the coming months.

Speaking to investors, Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors opened up about the release of Saints Rows and admitted he was a little disappointed by the negative reaction from some fans.

“Personally, I wanted the game to be more receptive. It was a very polarizing view,” he said. “There’s a lot to say and some details around it. I’m happy to see so many gamers and fans enjoying it.

“At the same time, it’s a little sad to see the fans not happy.

He also doesn’t expect the game to be as profitable as some of the company’s other releases. and bug fixes are planned.

“We are confident that we will make a profit on this investment. Will we get as great a return on investment as we have seen in many other games? You can earn it and it’s a good starting point.

When specifically asked if the reboot would affect the future of the franchise, Wingefords gave a predictably non-committal answer. , the result… and there [are] Hundreds of people engaged in this game in groups.

“I still have a lot of confidence in them. I’m sure they will recommend me something for the future.”

He also called Saints Row “one of the most difficult” of the company’s projects to get a good return on investment. In short, it doesn’t make big bucks as easily as other projects.

The best-case scenario is Saints Row making enough profit to warrant a follow-up, but even if it does, it’s unlikely to be a high priority for Embracer.

Saints Row is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Stadia.
