The game evolved its cult following its throwback gameplay, 2D pixel work by artist Paul Robertson, and the soundtrack by indie chiptune rock band Anamanaguchi. It was a supernova with very interesting and unique talents working together.However, a tragedy broke out in December 2014 when Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game and its two DLC packs were removed from the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. The reason for the delisting was not disclosed, but many cite the potential problem of the Scott Pilgrim license expiring.
Ten years later, in 2020, shortly after the Scott Pilgrim movie anniversary, Ubisoft revealed that Scott Pilgrim vs. World: Games-the full version will be re-released on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Stadia.
