Stevenson designs a car with two teams of high school students. According to MoonMark, a multimedia education company that helps make this race a reality, six teams of five members will join the last two races of the month after an eight-week qualifying challenge by high school students from around the world. “Their adventures will be captured, produced and distributed worldwide by Moonmark,” the company said in a press release on November 17. “The last two teams will complete the racer design in Houston, Texas, then be loaded onto the lander, taken to the Kennedy Space Center, and then on the moon.”The two vehicles, not yet designed and manufactured by the team and Stevenson, will be carried on a Nova-C lunar module created by Intuitive Machines onboard the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. Intuitive Machines is working with MoonMark and space technology company LunarOutpost to bring this off-world idea to life.
