Zack Steffen remained undefeated as Manchester City goalkeeper, and Americans had an easy day at the Stamford Bridge office.
Stephen supplemented Ederson’s absence and beat Chelsea 3-1 on Sunday. This is Stephen’s fifth victory in the goal of the season and could be the beginning of a busy week in which Ederson continues to self-quarantine.

The No. 1 American men’s national team made a serious mistake early in London and won a backpass from Rodri in the 5th minute. Thankfully, for Stephen, Hakim Ziyech’s free kick was diverted for a corner kick.
Outside of the nerve weakness in the opening minutes, Stephen appeared confident in the ball at his feet and his distribution. The only save for the 25-year-old came in the 55th minute after Mason Mount’s under-hit attempt fell easily on Stephen’s arm.
Stephen and his defensive teammates will be frustrated after giving Callum Hudson Odoy a goal for downtime. Kai Havertz’s cross was cleared in the lower corner by a fellow substitute, giving Chelsea the only comfort goal.
With Manchester’s victory, they finished fifth at the Premier League table, four points behind leader Liverpool. Next to the next club is Wednesday, the day of the League Cup semifinals with rival Manchester United. This is another chance for Stephen to score a goal.
Josep Guardiola’s team concludes their busy week with the FA Cup match against Birmingham City on January 9th at Etihad Stadium.
