Stetzle signs contract with Senator for third pick in 2020 draft – NHL Sports

Tim Stetzl signed a three-year entry-level contract with Senator Ottawa on Sunday. The financial terms have not been disclosed.

The left, who turns 19 on January 15, was ranked third in the 2020 NHL Draft. Stetzle said he would like to attend a senator training camp after playing in Germany at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championships in Edmonton. Ottawa will open the 2020-21 season on January 15th against the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Canadian Tire Center.

“Tim has an extraordinary blend of both speed and skill, as well as playmaking abilities that fans will enjoy watching over the next few years,” said Senator General Manager Pierre Dorion. “He’s a dynamic forward and we hope to be an important part of our roster as we continue to icing the final elite level team.”Stetzle scored 34 points (7 goals, 27 assists) in 41 Mannheim games last season. This is his first play in Germany’s top professional league.
