As the latest and youngest sweet green investor, Osaka wants to stimulate a healthy diet for the next generation.
Sweetgreen, a mission-led restaurant brand that offers healthy food on a large scale, has announced Naomi Osaka, the first national athlete ambassador and the youngest investor to date. This partnership is also the first food collaboration for Osaka, a philanthropist and advocate who has won three Grand Slam singles.
“Sweet Green is honored to partner with Naomi to represent what Naomi believes and use the platform to educate and inspire the next generation.”
The future of eating on the go is changing as 52% of Americans are consciously looking for healthier eating options. Players like Sweet Green are redefining what the industry will look like in the coming years with the help of like-minded supporters like Osaka.
“Our goal is to change the way brands and athletes talk to future generations about the importance of what they eat,” said co-founder and chief brand officer Nathaniel Lou. “Sweet Green is honored to partner with Naomi to represent what Naomi believes and use the platform to educate and inspire the next generation.”
Osaka has been a longtime sweet green customer and firmly believes that the food she eats fuels her on and off the court. For a tennis star, that means eating food that treats you physically and mentally. The message is that she wants to spread to young followers through this partnership.
“I’m proud to work with Sweet Green to change the way the world thinks about traditional fast food sponsorship. As an athlete, what I put into my body is how I act. It’s directly related to what you do, and eating delicious and healthy food stimulates my daily life, “said Osaka. “I’m excited about the work we’re doing together to create a positive impact.”
Osaka, in collaboration with the Sweet Green cooking team, debuted nationwide on Thursday, May 20th, designing a custom bowl that can only be picked up or delivered via the Sweet Green app. Her typical dependable order, Naomi Osaka Bowl, is warm quinoa, baby spinach, coriander, tomatoes, tortilla chips, raw carrots, goat cheese, dark chicken, lime silanetrojarapeno vinaigrette, avocado, sweets. It features green hot sauce.
To celebrate the partnership, sweetgreen and Naomi are jointly supporting the Asian American Foundation to increase the fairness of the AAPI community. On Wednesday, May 26th, 100% of all sales from Naomi Osaka Bowl will support AAPI-led organizations that increase food access in the AAPI community.
