Switch’s Pokemon Diamond Pearl remake confirmed

Pokemon Company has announced a remake of the DS game Pokemon Diamond Pearl. These will be released worldwide on Nintendo Switch in the second half of 2021.

“These are faithful remakes of the Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl versions of the game released for the Nintendo DS system in Japan 15 years ago,” Pokemon Company COO Takato Utsunomiya said in a presentation on Friday. ..

As previously reported, the remake is being developed by ILCA, who also worked at Pokemon Home. This project is directed by ILCA’s Yuichi Ueda and Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda, who was the director of the original DS release.

Brilliant Diamonds and Shining Pearls are held in the Sinnoh region, and the three starter Pokemon available to players are Tart Wig, Chimchar, and Piplup.

Game Freak is currently creating another Pokemon title that was also released on Friday. Scheduled for release in 2022, Pokémon Legends: Arceus is an early open-world game in the Sinnoh region.

To coincide with the 20th anniversary of the 2016 franchise, several Pokemon games have been released, including Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon for 3DS, and Pokemon Go for iOS and Android.

The Pokemon Company also released a new Pokemon Snap Trailer on Friday, showing off photo editing and Illumina Orbs prior to the release of the game on April 30th.
