Tencent currently owns Digital Extremes and Splash Damage

Chinese media conglomerate Tencent has acquired Leyou. This name may not make much sense, but you’ll know some of its subsidiaries: Warframe developer Digital Extremes and Dirty Bomb developer Splash Damage. Both of these studios have issued a statement, “Don’t sweat. That’s okay.”

“We expect to remain creatively independent and will not change the way Warframe and our studios operate, and you, the community that has been with us at every stage since the launch of Warframe. We will continue to work devotedly to this, “Digital Extremes said in their statement.

“Our acquisition will allow Splash Damage to act as an independent entity within the Tencent family, but in 30 years it will be possible to leverage their expertise to build even better games. “Masu,” Splash Damage says in them.

Leyou, strangely, started as part of Sumpo Food Holdings, a Chinese chicken company that was aiming to diversify its business. In 2014, they bought a majority stake in Digital Extremes, in 2016 they bought almost everything else, and in 2016 they also bought Splash Damage. Tencent has acquired Leyou and added it to Riot Games, Funcom, and stable studios such as Epic Games, Ubisoft, Frontier Developments, Activision Blizzard, Paradox Interactive, and Grinding Gear Games.

The integration of the gaming industry continues.

Disclosure: I have a companion for splash damage. Pal? Maybe now just a companion.
