The Assassin’s Creed Valhara patch, which should fix performance, has been reported to have caused new issues.

This week’s Assassin’s Creed Valhara patch seems to have done more harm than good.

Ubisoft has released a big patch for Assassin’s Creed Valhara Just yesterday. This is the first update since the game was released and the publisher is packed with many bug fixes and major performance improvements.

Or, we believed it because most next-generation consoles have reported a number of performance issues since the patch was released.

The biggest feature of patch 1.0.4 is the addition of performance mode or visual fidelity mode options for PS5, Xbox Series X, and even Series S as a whole. Judging by reports such as Resetera, Series S has benefited most from both of these patches. The mode runs at a stable frame rate.

However, the PS5, which had the fewest pre-patch performance issues, seems to be suffering the most now. The frame rate in performance mode regularly drops to the low 40s, but it’s not clear if this is due to a bug or simply because the game can’t handle the effects in the scene.

John Linneman of Digital Foundry pointed out this strange performance degradation on Twitter after his followers reported the findings to him.

The update also planned to remove screen tearing from the Xbox Series X version, which was one of the biggest issues since its launch. Unfortunately, that didn’t work either. Many players actually report that they still have tears. Screen tearing on the Xbox Series X can be the same, but some say it’s less common after a patch.

So far, it seems that mileage can be different depending on this. Some people who are happy with how they play the game are considering turning off updates until the next patch arrives.

We continue to update the Assassin’s Creed Valhara Guide on more pages. Just recently, we released a big one to help you make good use of Orlog. There are also some general guides to help, such as this FAQ on healing, reindeer horns and arrows, and a popular guide on flying answers.
