The deadline for the Pandemic Livestock Compensation Program has been extended

USDA has extended the deadline Livestock and poultry producers applying for Pandemic livestock compensation program. The initial deadline was September 17th and was moved to next month. Producers who suffer losses during a pandemic due to inadequate access to processing can apply for assistance until October 12. This program supports producers who have lost animals between March 1st and December 26th, 2020.

Payments are based on 80% of the fair market value of livestock and poultry, and are based on depopulation and disposal. Target livestock and poultry include pigs, chickens and turkeys.
