The good, the bad, and the unknown from winning Memphis – NBA Sports

The San Antonio Spurs won an overwhelming victory in the season opener against Memphis Grizzlies. What is the biggest point from this game?

After a relatively short turnaround from the end of the bubble era to the beginning of the 2020-2021 draft and free agents San Antonio Spurs Finally, the regular season has begun with the battle with the Memphis Grizzlies. Following the first quarter, San Antonio returned to take a big lead, winning 131-119.

An overwhelming victory over the estimated playoff team is always a good sign, especially if it’s the first gameback and the player can get a little rusty. This time is no exception. Of course, the Grizzlies were hurt without the rotation of Jaren Jackson Jr. and Justise Winslow (both due to last season’s injuries), but Memphis still played with a lot of firepower and the Spurs survived the storm. It was a good start to the season.

But the most important part of winning, and in the real game, is understanding what worked and what didn’t. And despite what seemed to explode on the scoreboard, there were a number of issues with the game. Fortunately for San Antonio, these issues were more important than many positive points.

To learn from this and perhaps continue to grow throughout the season, Spurs need to understand how to fix what went wrong and how to keep going. But what were they? What is the biggest issue in this game?
