The restart of Perfect Dark on the Xbox Series X reveals the first trailer

Microsoft has officially announced a new entry for the Perfect Dark franchise. For Xbox series X / S only.

Rumored for years, Microsoft has finally revealed that their new studio, The Initiative, is working on it, and it’s certainly the new Perfect Dark.

Unlike the various existing developers we recently acquired, The Initiative was created from scratch and is attended by many top studio veterans such as Crystal Dynamics and Naughty Dog.

There was no real gameplay footage of the new Perfect Dark, just a movie trailer. In fact, it was impossible to speculate that it was a game until the last time Joanna Dark was revealed.

The game is simply called Perfect Dark, but it doesn’t seem to be a remake, so I’m assuming it will fall into reboots, software, and more.

The story already seems more interesting than that of the original game and is described by the initiative as “eco-science fiction.”

It seems like a kind of reverse cyberpunk where evil companies have saved the world from environmental disasters, but because they are evil, there is a stab in the story that secret agent Joanna Dark must discover.

The original N64 game was the spiritual successor to GoldenEye 007, and its less popular prequel, Perfect Dark Zero, had some limited third-person elements, but both were primarily It was a first-person shooter.

It’s not clear what the new game is, but it meant it was for the Xbox Series X / S only and wouldn’t show up on the Xbox One. This also means that it won’t be available until at least 2022.

We don’t have enough information to guess further, but we hope to get more information next year.

Rhea, the creator of the two original games, has already marked approval, but given that it’s owned by Microsoft, little else can be said.
