Serbian soccer star Aleksandar Mitrovic shared a message of encouragement to Novak Djokovic. After landing in Australia on January 5, Djokovic canceled his visa and was detained. Djokovic appealed to this decision and reinstated his visa after winning the appeal in court last Monday.

On Friday, Immigration Minister Alex Hawke used his power to cancel Djokovic’s visa. Djokovic again appealed to the decision, but this time he lost his case. “Don’t worry about those you don’t like. They’re just angry because the truth you tell is inconsistent with the lies they live in,” Mitrovic said.

Djokovic left the country

Djokovic’s story finally came to an end when Djokovic left the country after losing his Australian visa application. Deprived of the opportunity to compete in Melbourne Park was certainly a big blow, but Djokovic accepted the court’s decision.

“I would like to make a brief statement to address the outcome of today’s court hearing. I will take some time to rest and recover before making any further comments,” Djokovic said in a statement.

“I am very disappointed with the court’s decision to discuss the application for judicial review of the Minister’s decision to revoke the visa, which means that I cannot stay in Australia and participate in the Australian Open.

“I respect the court’s ruling and cooperate with the authorities in leaving the country.” I’m uncomfortable with the focus of the last few weeks on me, and we’re all now. I hope my favorite games and tournaments, players, tournament officials, staff, volunteers, and fans will do their best for the tournament.

“Finally, I would like to thank my family, friends, teams, supporters, fans, and my fellow Serbs for their continued support. You were all a great source of power for me.”
