The guy behind Geralt of Rivia’s husky tone hasn’t been asked to work on CD Projekt’s next RPG.
Polish studio CD Projekt is trying to figure out what’s going on with Cyberpunk 2077, but it certainly knows one thing.
The voice of Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher, Doug Cockle, will not appear in the studio’s latest release as a cameo. Talking to , the voice actor confirmed that he was not involved in the project.
“Unfortunately, I’ve never been involved in cyberpunk,” he said. “It was mentioned long ago [CDPR] Didn’t bring me for anything. Actually, I’m a little sad!
“Well,” he added. “Maybe in the future …”
In the past, Cockle had been interested in appearing in Cyberpunk 2077, but had previously said that CD Projekt had not contacted him about the work of the game. He also wants to work on the Uncharted franchise of Sony and Naughty Dog.
Cockle plays Gerald in all three The Witcher games, and his voice has also appeared in TimeSplitters 2, RuneScape, Horizon Zero Dawn and more.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on December 10th, even later. CD Projekt claims that the game will never be pushed back again.
Polish studios strictly control sci-fi RPG spoilers and require content creators not to post streams or play until December 9th.
Keanu Reeves, who appears in The Matrix and John Wick star Cyberpunk 2077, is playing the game and apparently loves it. So that’s what it is.
