The Xbox Game Pass continues to grow, but not as fast as Microsoft expected

The Xbox Game Pass continues to grow, with a new estimate of 20 million subscribers as of June. Microsoft said in its financial statements that Xbox Game Pass subscribers increased by 37% in the 12 months to June 30. The goal was a 48% increase, so Microsoft didn’t live up to the expectations associated with the Game Pass.

According to analyst Daniel Ahmad, with 37% growth, Game Pass has more than 20 million subscribers as of June 30, and has grown steadily ever since.

Microsoft has made this clear as part of its disclosure of executive compensation. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella’s salary is partly based on the growing number of Xbox Game Pass subscribers.

last Official The number of subscribers to the Game Pass released by Microsoft was 18 million in January. Take-Two’s Strauss Zelnick estimates that Game Pass will now have 30 million members, but Microsoft hasn’t yet discussed the number of Game Passes, at least in terms of raw data.

Microsoft will release a full revenue report on October 26th, which could get new hard numbers for Game Pass subscribers. Check GameSpot for more information.

In other news, Microsoft announced 11 Game Pass titles to be added to the catalog this month. We also revealed a game that will end the program on October 31st.
