Go online-only again.
This year’s Summer Games Done Quick Charity Speed Running Event will be held from July 4th to 11th, announced by the organizers and will once again be an online-only event.
Years ago, Games Done Quick took the form of a real-world event with tickets, and its various speed-running showcases were streamed online, teasing charitable donations from viewers who couldn’t attend directly. However, the ongoing coronavirus pandemic will require plan changes in 2020, and those precautions will continue to be implemented at this year’s Summer Games Done Quick “to ensure the continued safety of participants.”
Now that the date has been set and the format confirmed, the submission of this year’s Summer Games Done Quick Speed Runner will begin shortly. Those wishing to participate will be required to present their game submissions from the Games Done Quick website from March 31st to April 11th tomorrow.
According to the organizers, the complete game list and schedule for Summer Games Done Quick 2020 Online, as well as this year’s charity beneficiaries, will be announced at a later date.
Since its debut in 2010, Games Done Quick has raised $ 31 million for charities around the world. The organization’s latest event, Awesome Games Done Quick, in January, raised over $ 2.75 million (£ 2.3 million) for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
